‘Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger’ is a track by French duo Daft Punk. The single was first released on 13 October 2001. A live version of « Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger » was released as a single from the album Alive 2007 on 15 October 2007.

The “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger”single was out in 2001, on October the 13th, and then a live version was released on October 15th 2007 (22nd in the United States), from the Alive 2007 album. In 2009, the live version won a Grammy Award for the “Best Dance Recording”, and you could download it on October 15th, 2007. NME listed HBFS 132nd among the “150 best tracks of the past 15 years”. In this track, the robotic voice is performed by Daft Punk via vocoder, and there also is a sample from “Cola Bottle Baby” by Edwin Birdsong. Unlike the rest of the Alive 2007 album, HBFS was recorded while the live show made at the KeySpan Park. It contains elements from Around The World and Television Rules the Nation. If you compare it to the Paris Bercy mixes, you can find the intro of Television Rules The Nation / Crescendolls and the suite is from Around the World / Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger with shortened loops.

Kanye West also sampled the song in his “Stronger” track, and in the track’s video clip, the two actors who played the Daft Punks (in Electroma) appear in it. Guy-Manuel also reported : “Strongerisn’t a studio collaboration, but the vibe of the music we do separately connected in what Kanye West did with the song”, and later, concerning the live version they made with West for the Grammy Award in 2008, Guy-Man said “It was truly a collaboration from the start. We really did it all hand in hand”. Diplo also edited a remixed of HBFS called “Work Is Never Over”, and it is in the compilation Decent Work for Decent Money album, and the track is also used in the famous movie Very Bad Trip 2, for the airport scene.
