At the beginning of 2006, Daft Punk announced it, their special live shows would take place in summer. On April the 29th, the French duo made their first Live at Coachella Valley at the Art Festival, and received a exhilarating welcome since their live in 1997. Thomas Bangalter said that there was going to be a DVD of their live, but seeing the quality of the amateur videos and judging them better than the professional ones, the idea was left. Guy-Manuel de Homem Christo revealed in an interview that the Bang Music Festival was going to be their last date for their Alive tour 2006, taking place November the 11th. However, they were still going to make some more dates later.

Then came the information concerning Paris-Bercy, for 2007, followed by the Wireless Festival and RockNess, both in June, with the August taking place festivals: Oxegen Festival and Lollapalooza. Alive 2007 was then officially announced. The RockNess Festival was filled at 10 000 people, who were quite annoyed concerning the delay, but quickly forgot about it when the two robots started the show. The festival’s structure was also modified to let the left by see the show, due to their popularity. Concerning the Wireless Festival live show, we have The Time’s feedback: “memorable sensory spectacle, both dazzling and deafening” as well as the This is London’s one “an almost faultless set of relentless electro euphoria”.

For the Oxegen Music Festival, July the 8th 2007, Daft Punk headlined the stage number 2. Before they started playing, they offered to the crowd the trailer of their movie Electroma, before playing 4 days later at the Traffic Torino Free Festival in Turin, Italy. As said the NME for example, the show was “a robotic spectacular”, and Shoutmouth labeled it as “typically triumphant”. Pitchfork Media then stated their show at the AT&T stage of the Lollapalooza Music Festival on August the 3rd 2007 of being “a much-needed reminder of the still-potent power of communicative pop”.

Two days after, Daft Punk live showed at Toronto and 4 days after at the Brooklyn’s KeySpan Park, in New York City, where Olivier Gondry directed the Harder Better Faster Stronger‘s clip. Featured as musical brackets, the robots mixed the Spring/Summer collection of Louis Vuitton’s womenswear in 2008, more precisely on October the 7th 2007. On October the 27th of this same year, they made a live show in Las Vegas, sharing the stage with Rage Against The Machine, Muse and Queens of the Stone Age, for a few days after only, performing in Mexico City. On Friday the 2nd in November 2007, the French robots live showed in the Arenas of Monterrey, Mexico and Guadalajara. Daft Punk then put an end to their tour in Sydney.

Then appeared the rumor from Modular, wandering whether Daft Punk would slightly extend their tour in Australia or not, for the Never Ever Land in December 2007. Two years after, Daft Punk’s venue to Never Ever Land got officially settled, and their manager Pedro Winter affirmed that it would be their last date, on this day of December the 22nd 2007, with their LED Pyramid stage. The tickets for this Never Ever Land tour were sold very fast, taking the speed selling record. For the second year of Live, it was able to everyone to discover a reminder (rappel) with legendary tracks of the robots (especially with ‘Together‘ and ‘Stardust‘), but more importantly, to detect luminous costumes inspired by TRON universe (and we know what happened to Tron Legacy). In a live webchat camera speech, Daft Punk admitted that no date will be planned in 2008, leaving the place to innovative projects. Please find some videos HERE and all details below.
